Pick your system. Each download holds Forge, its own Python and every app.

Forge 0.2.0

Forge's first public download is being prepared. The buttons turn on when it is published. Downloads will come from GitHub Releases.

Install

  1. Linux. Unpack the .tar.gz and run ./Forge/forge. Run ./Forge/forge --install once to add it to your app menu.
  2. Windows. Unzip it and double-click Forge.cmd.
  3. macOS. Unpack it and open Forge. The first time, macOS stops it because it is not from the App Store: open System Settings, Privacy and Security, and press Open Anyway. The Mac builds are new and not yet tried on a real Mac; tell us in the forum how it goes.

Check the file

Each download on GitHub Releases will have its sha256 beside it. Compare it before you run Forge:

AI apps need Jan

Apps marked "Uses Jan" talk to Jan, a free app that runs AI models on your computer. Everything else works without it.
